Calling those who are working toward co-creating a world that works for all:What can we learn from each other, do together?
Many of us have broken barriers and used novel processes and technologies to connect across time and space to make a difference. What are you noticing? What principles guide you? What would support your work? How might we bring together what each of us has learned to amplify our usefulness on behalf of people, communities, and our shared planet? Even if you are skeptical about co-creating a world that works for all, you may find insights and partners to do what matters to you. And others may learn and grow from your perspective. The Berrett-Koehler Foundation, in partnership with Berrett-Koehler Publishers and other organizations, invites you to an online, self-organizing, participant-led summit. |
JOIN US for this two-part experiment in self-organizing!
SEE THE SCHEDULE
Phase 1 is an Open Space summit that runs over two days in three time zones. Register now for June 27-29—see the schedule to find sessions at times friendly to you. (It uses a 24-hour clock.)
Using Open Space Technology for self-organized conversations, we'll set our agenda in real time, meet in breakout sessions, and reflect on our experiences. To participate fully, pick at least two sessions among the six 5-hour sessions in three time zones. See who else is coming on the Summit Map below, which registrants are encouraged to opt into.
Phase 2 is an opportunity for self-organized deep dives that runs from June 30-July 25, supported by the topics view on the Summit Map. All registrants will receive Phase 2 invitations during Phase 1. Join for one phase or both, and participate as much or as little as you choose.

How will we use the Summit Map?
The Summit Map acts as a directory during Phase 1 and as the primary tool for self-organizing around topics that matter to each participant during Phase 2. Initially, it is populated with data from people who opt in during registration. You may also decide to add yourself at a later date.

AN ONGOING INITIATIVE
This is the initial iteration of a process we aspire to offer on an ongoing basis—perhaps four times per year—expanding our hosting circle and co-evolving our approach in each cycle, and generating enough funding to support the work. It's an experiment in developing our capacity to self-organize. We seek to learn how this capacity can serve people, initiatives, and networks engaged in co-creating a world that works for all.

Tell me more about the Open Space approach for Phase 1
We’ll set the agenda in real-time and hold conversations over 48 hours. By inviting questions that matter to you, your wisdom, experience, and curiosity take center stage. The resulting networking and community connections can inspire innovative actions large and small.
Partners
Our partners are organizations with complementary values who make the event possible by sharing the invitation with their networks. In the spirit of learning as we go, when approached by a long-time member of the Berrett-Koehler community about being a partner, we said, “why not?” and made that option available. If you wish to be a partner, please contact us.
DONATIONS
We are operating on a gift economy basis. There is no fee to participate, but we do have expenses and a desire to invest in future summits. For those who can afford it, we suggest a minimum donation of between $50 and $150, depending on how intensively you plan to participate. It will also be possible to make a contribution at the end of the Summit. Thanks to support from the Berrett-Koehler Foundation, we are offering honoraria to provide internet access for participants who would otherwise find it cost prohibitive.
